Swing Speed Radar with Tempo Timer The Swing Speed Radar with Tempo Timer is a small, microwave Doppler radar velocity sensor that provides the swing speed and tempo rhythm for golfers of all ages and skill levels. It assists players in developing /optimizing their swing, and maintaining consistency, by measuring actual tempo time from club takeaway to ball impact at the climax of their forward swing, as well as the swing speed of the clubhead as it approaches the ball. The Swing Speed Radar? with Tempo Timer, featuring simple one-button operation, provides unmatched utility in a single, affordable device. Clubhead speed and tempo are two significant characteristics of a golfer?s swing that must be optimized and controlled if the golfer is to consistently achieve his/her best ball-striking results. Expensive launch monitors costing thousands of dollars, primarily used by well-funded clubmakers, instructors, or pro golfers, generally include these two vital parameters in their measurement systems. However, less expensive devices for use by most instructors, clubmakers, and by the golfing public are limited in utility. Conventional swing speed meters can be inconsistent, unreliable, and complicated to use. Some even require attachments to the club that can change the club swing dynamics. Metronome-type devices can provide tempo time models for the golfer to try to emulate, but the resulting tempo time can only be estimated by comparisons with the model. The Swing Speed Radar with Tempo Timer can be set to measure and display clubhead swing speed alone (SS Mode); tempo time, from club takeaway to ball impact, alone (TT Mode); or both swing speed and tempo time in the Dual Mode, in which the display toggles (alternates) between swing speed and tempo time. It can be used by golfers of all ages and skill levels, at home or at their practice facilities, as they strive to optimize their swing mechanics and rhythm for their best distance, control, consistency and accuracy. Golfers need to determine the tempo time that best suits their swing rhythm. John Novosel, in his best selling new book "Tour Tempo", points out that most Pro Tour Golfers have tempo times within the range of 0.9 to 1.3 seconds. Ben Jackson, Owner and Head Instructor at the New England Golf Academy, emphasizes the trend for the new, young Tour Pros of today is for faster tempo times. In Ben's words, "Speed is the new frontier!" (Tempo time and swing speed!) Check out your tempo time and swing speed and see where you fit in!! Perfect for indoor or outdoor use The radar device captures both golf and baseball swing speeds Optimize your golf or baseball swing Whether a novice or professional, the Swing Speed Radar from Sports Sensors will help you maximize your distance and control to take your game to the next level. A valuable aid for players of all ages and skill levels, the Swing Speed Radar is a powerful tool for coaches and instructors everywhere. "It's not how hard you swing, but how well you swing.” The Swing Speed Radar is a small microwave Doppler radar velocity sensor that measures the swing speed of golfers and baseball/softball players. However, over-swinging can produce poor results. The Swing Speed Radar helps you improve both metrics by measuring your swing speed, determining the best speed for optimum performance, monitoring your swing consistency, and selecting the club or bat characteristics that best suit your swing type. Golfers can use the device to determine the optimum swing for distance, control, and accuracy, while baseball/softball players can work on honing their bat speed to create consistently solid contact. The Swing Speed Radar's real-time velocity feedback helps players and coaches measure improvements and troubleshoot swing mechanics. Instructions for Best Results To measure golf swing speed, merely position the Swing Speed Radar in a forward location about 8 to 10 inches directly away from the tee. In baseball or softball applications, meanwhile, you can hang the device on a batting cage, pop-up net, or fence, or mount it on a tripod about 5 feet in front of or behind the player while he or she swings in the air or hits off a tee. By locating the Swing Speed Radar at a height that corresponds to the plane of the bat swing, the bat speed is measured "out front" of the batter in the hitting zone, which is where contact with the ball produces the best results. Put another way, the device measure the speed of the barrel of the bat, not the tip. This makes the Swing Speed Radar a great tool for helping you select the optimum bat size and weight for your swing. What’s in the Box? Your purchase includes a nylon drawstring pouch for carrying your Swing Speed Radar and two snap hooks for attaching it to your equipment bag or hanging from a net for bat speed measurements. Care of Your Swing Speed Radar The Swing Speed Radar is a unique electronics product intended for training and practice situations. Although the rugged design will withstand the rigors of normal use, it should be protected from golf club, bat and ball impacts; should not be dropped or thrown; or exposed to precipitation, or immersed in water or other liquids. Do not use or leave outdoors during inclement weather. Store the Swing Speed Radar in typical in-house environments, avoiding excessive temperature extremes, humidity, dust and dirt. Swing Speed Radar Ball Shield The Ball Shield protects the Swing Speed Radar and the Swing Speed Radar with Tempo Timer from ball impacts when either Radar is being used for ball speed measurements. Place the Radar flat on its' back, about 3 feet directly in front of the tee, such that it doesn't read clubhead speed. Place the Ball Shield over the Radar with the sloping surface toward the teed ball, and with the Radar Display protruding from the open end of the Ball Shield. Ball speed will be measured accurately for balls passing directly over the Radar at launch angles of about 12 degrees or less. Ball speed measurements at higher launch angles are reduced due to the cosine effect of the ball trajectory and Radar vector. Velocities of well-struck balls are typically 40% to 47% faster than clubhead speed. Balls not hit on the clubface center can be much lower in velocity, depending on how far from the center the ball was hit, and the C.O.R. characteristics of the clubface design. A GREAT TOOL FOR LONG DRIVE COMPETITORS, AND ALL SERIOUS GOLFERS WORKING ON INCREASING THEIR DRIVING DISTANCE!! The Swing Speed Radar is a small, doppler radar velocity sensor that measures the swing speed of golfers and baseball/softball players. Increased swing speed corresponds to increased ball distance. Golfers can determine their optimum swing for the best distance, control and accuracy. Baseball/softball players can develop their optimum bat speed for distance, quickness, and bat control for consistent ball contact. The Swing Speed Radar is positioned in a forward location about 8-10 inches directly away from the tee. Clubhead speed is measured in the vicinity of contact with the ball. In the baseball or softball application, the Swing Speed Radar can be hung on a batting cage, pop-up net, or fence, or tripod-mounted about five feet in front of the player? swinging in air; or mounted similarly about five feet behind a batter swinging at a ball on a tee. The Swing Speed Radar is set at a height corresponding to the plane of the bat swing. Powered by three AA-size batteries, the Swing Speed Radar transmission level is well within FCC requirements and prescribed safety levels. The Swing Speed Radar is microprocessor-controlled, and indicates calculated miles-per-hour club head or bat speeds, ranging from 20 to over 200 miles or Kilometer per hour, on a large easy-to-read liquid crystal display.
Swing speed relates directly to distance and consistent tempo time translates to consistent ball striking. For the first time, an instrument is available by which golfers can obtain immediate real-time feedback on these two important swing characteristics-clubhead swing speed and tempo time. When used on the driving range, or during practice rounds, the immediate feedback of these two inputs provided by the SSRTT, along with the ball flight characteristics, will help a golfer monitor swing performance, optimize swing mechanics, and monitor swing consistency. Various metronome devices are available for golfers to emulate tempo characteristics of their swing, particularly the ratio of the back swing to the forward swing. Because the entire swing time from takeaway to ball impact is only about 0.80 to 1.40 seconds, the human reaction time is a significant percentage of the golfer's tempo. The New Swing Speed Radar with Tempo Timer compliments tempo training by measuring a golfers ACTUAL Tempo Time consistency, from club takeaway to ball contact, to one hundredth of a second, as well as Clubhead Swing Speed within 1 mph up to 100 mph, and 1% over 100 mph.
